The platform is available in English and Ukrainian. You can switch language directly from the main screen. From the home menu, you can select any mission, access Character Info, or consult Learn More. There is no required order: feel free to explore missions based on your interests, priorities, or operational relevance.
Mission Selection
Choose any mission from the mission grid. Each mission focuses on a specific operational dilemma linked to the Law of Armed Conflict and professional conduct.
Mission Briefing
Before entering the scenario, you receive contextual information, the operational environment and mission objectives, including civilian protection and unit safety.
Immersive Scenario
You are placed directly into the situation, experiencing events as they unfold. Visuals, pacing, and sound are used to reflect the stress and ambiguity of real combat environments.
For users who prefer not to use sound or require visual support, on-screen text cues are provided at key moments to convey atmosphere and context.
Decision Points
At critical moments, the scenario pauses and presents clear decision options. Each option is accompanied by a short description of the situation and surrounding circumstances. The choices are rarely simple, as each decision you take carries consequences that must be weighed under pressure.
After-Action Review (AAR)
At the end of a mission path, an After-Action Review appears. The review does not grade you, does not judge intentions. It explains consequences in realistic terms, and connects the decisions you took to professional conduct and the Law of Armed Conflict.
Major Ihor Korolenko addresses you directly, offering calm, experience-based guidance grounded in restraint, professionalism, and respect for human dignity. All After-Action Reviews are subtitled for users who prefer reading or require visual support.
Restart & Replay
At the end of each mission, you can restart the mission, explore alternative decisions, or return to the mission selection screen. Learning happens through exploration and reflection. Replaying missions from different angles helps clarify how the decisions you take shape the situation you’re in.
Guided Tutorial Missions
In addition to decision-based missions, Decisions Under Fire includes two guided tutorial missions:
In these tutorials, Major Korolenko speaks directly to you, guiding your attention and supporting careful decision-making without judgment.
Now it’s your turn. Enter the missions, explore your decision-making under pressure, and see how your choices shape real outcomes — for your team, for civilians, and for yourself.
